A new customer can either be added with or without an ID Scanner.
If you are not using an ID Scanner, you will add the new customer using the New button in the Customer Listing window and then manually entering the customers information.
There is also the option to use an ID scanner to add a customer. The ID Scanners will pre-populate all possible fields. You will still be walked through the step-by-step process as there is some information that is not contained on an ID (SSN, phone number, etc). Therefore, those fields will need to be filled in manually.The ScanShell optical scanner will also populate the customers photo automatically with the ID photo.
In all cases (with or without an ID scanner), once the customer's information and photo are loaded, you will have the opportunity to load their fingerprint (if a fingerprint reader has been activated).
